(Submitted by Eddie Avedikian)The Woodmen Hills Community Center teamed up with many local businesses for the Woodmen Hills 10-year anniversary luau, held Saturday Aug. 11 at the Recreation Center East.More than 500 residents joined in the festivities, which included music, games, jumpers, food, door prizes and kids’ treats. The purpose of the center’s event was to give back to the Woodmen Hills community by providing a great family outing.The Woodmen Hills staff would like to thank the many volunteers and contributors for their support of this successful event. The staff would like to thank Stan Dalton, president of the Fortress Real Estate Group, and his staff for their contribution of 40 pizzas for the kids and the fishing booth, the door prizes they purchased, the cotton candy machine, the sound equipment and the super giveaway of one month’s paid mortgage.Thanks to Joe Bauer, president of the Exchange Club of Falcon, and club volunteers for serving the barbecue, which was catered by Howard’s Pit BBQ. Thanks to Scott Carmack of State Farm in Falcon for donating tents for the event – it was a hot, hot afternoon.A big thanks to the following supporters: Rusty Green of Nobility Homes, John Lamb of Lamb Mortgage, Rhonda Smith and Robin Pretzeus, owners of the Unicorn Salon, Ty Reuter of Alpine Vision, Tanya Luiten of Town and Country Preschool and Hal of Prairie Mountain Landscaping.
