D 49 receives $2.5 million from builders for classrooms

The Falcon School District 49 Board of Education has accepted a contribution of $2.5 million from the Falcon Community Builders for Classrooms. The money will fund the second story wing of the Falcon high school No. 3, according to an August news release.”This second story wing project is a capital priority in accordance with the district’s strategic plans, but without this relationship with the builders of our community it would not have been completed in as timely a manner,” said Dave Martin, president of the board. “The Board of Education is grateful and looks forward to a long partnership with the Falcon Community Builders for Classrooms.”The Falcon Community Builders for Classrooms is a nonprofit organization incorporated in July 2005 for the purpose of collecting a voluntary impact fee from builders and developers for each new home built in Falcon School District 49. The FCBC was founded to help alleviate the overcrowded conditions in the school district.”This project is a big win for FCBC and for the district and their students,” said Doug Stimple of Classic Companies. “This project is exactly what the builders and developers in the district wanted to achieve – a partnership with the Board of Education to help build classrooms for the kids. We are very pleased to be able to contribute to the success of the district, and we look forward to building more classrooms in the future.”
