El Paso County Commissioner Douglas Bruce will host a town hall meeting Town Hall meeting at 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4 at the Falcon fire station at Highway 24 and Meridian Road. John McCarty, director of the El Paso County Department of Transportation, is Bruce’s special guest. McCarty will speak to the audience about the DOT’s role and its budget, especially as the department activities relate to the eastern part of the county. McCarty also will answer questions, provide written materials and accept citizen requests for road repairs.According to his news release, Bruce will speak about “wasteful county spending, illegal and foolish county policies” and the new enterprise policy petition that he wrote for the city of Colorado Springs. “Persons may volunteer to collect 100+ signatures on that petition, whether or not the circulator is a city resident,” the release stated.
