Baseball is on a roll

The regular baseball season is over. The end-of-the-season record 10-10. The team won their last game with Sierra 16 to 5, which gives them hope for the regionals. The team has a lot to be proud of this season. Two of the seniors, Jake Richardson and Sloan Soulia, are ranked in the top 10 percent of the 4A Colorado Metro League for hitting. Both seniors have also been contacted by colleges in relation to their baseball skills.Regional playoffs are just around the corner, and, for the first time since Falcon High School has been 4A, the boys have a shot at making it. Because the weather hasnít cooperated, there have been many cancellations, so make-up games will determine the playoffs.ìWe are still finding out what we are doing for playoffs,î said David Kranz, assistant coach and history teacher. ìBecause of the weather, we are at the mercy of the other teams. Everything is still wide open. But we are sitting pretty compared to other teams.îThe varsity baseball team has practiced and played hard together, and many things have brought them closer as a team. ìThe trip to Las Vegas was a definite benefit to us. We played very good competition out there, and even though we lost, playing them helped us win later on in the season,î said Kranz. ìThe season has gone pretty well for the boys, but it isnít over yet, there is still the possibility of regionals and state looming in the air.î
