Marsha Looper reported that her house bill ñ HB 1068, which addressed a variety of issues around toll road statutes ñ has been tabled indefinitely. ìIn HB 1068 we attempted to address these serious issues regarding the ìclaiming of the corridor,î ìclaiming the corridor in perpetuityî and realistic timelines,î Looper stated in a news release. ìWe were willing to submit a simplified version that would have cleared the titles and corrected the flaw in the current law regarding the filing and recording of private toll road documents. By postponing HB1068 indefinitely, the unintended consequences of current toll road statutes; such as the permanent recording of documents on the individual property titles remain unresolved. We are hopeful that the concerned citizens will continue to voice their opinions and work with the Transportation Legislative Review Committee in the upcoming summer session.î
