Falcon Incorporation Committee still seeking signatures

With the gathering of petition signatures almost complete, the Falcon Incorporation Committee is a step closer to presenting the issue to voters.Thomas Cline, Falcon Incorporation Committee chairman, said about 150 signatures have been obtained, but the FIC is still seeking additional signatures. ìWe would like to have a cushion,î he said.Cline said, as signatures are gathered, an unofficial poll by the FIC has determined that nine out of 10 people asked to sign the petition are in favor of voting on the issue. After the petition is submitted, a decision by an El Paso County district judge would take about two weeks, he said. If approved, an election committee would set a date for an election. Those interested in signing the petition must be Falcon residents, registered voters in El Paso County and property owners.ìWeíre anxious to get it to the judge,î Cline said. ìThereís a lot of paperwork, and itís a step by step process, but weíre getting there.î
