Falcon area senior program making progress

Long-time Falcon residents and community activists Nick and Bev Ordon have made progress in their efforts for seniors over age 60 in the Falcon area.As previously reported the Falcon Fire Protection District has offered space and the kitchen at the Falcon station for meal preparation and dining. Initially, the plan is to prepare and serve meals to seniors 60-plus at the station two times a month – the second and fourth Wednesday of each month.Bev Ordon said that Nancy Bishop has volunteered to lead an exercise program for seniors age 60 and over, both male and female, at Grace Community Church in Falcon on Mondays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to noon. Lorne MacDonald at Falcon Therapy and Fitness will provide training for Nancy and her assistant, Dru Wilson. The goal of the exercise program is to help maintain strength and mobility so seniors can continue to perform daily tasks with ease. Since the space at the church and the training are being provided without charge, there will be no charge for the exercise program. Those interested should contact Nancy at 886-4334 for details. They are still taking reservations for the potluck. Details follow.
