“Band of Brothers” finishes another good season

Football season is over and the boys have undoubtedly left their mark on their opponents. After long months of practicing and rough games “the band of brothers” did their best to improve and work together to achieve a common goal, victory. With a record of 2-4, it’s obvious that, although they haven’t won every game, they still grown as a team.”We learned that no matter what, we will always be there for each other,” said Lucas Musseau, a junior and the team captain.Unfortunately, there were some serious injuries toward the end of the season. During the game against Alamosa, the team had four injuries, two of them in the first quarter. Ricky Weaver, a senior, suffered neck and back injuries and just minutes later Dereck Cope, a junior, was taken out of the game with a torn ACL in his knee. Lucas Musseau had a minor back injury and Levi Releucke sustained injuries to his ankle. The boys have had some triumphant moments; a big accomplishment was defeating Woodland Park at their homecoming game. Also, our boys are the first team to have scored on Alamosa; they are the only team to stop them from getting over 50 points in a game.Overall, the season was successful because the boys learned to work as a team and the hopes of making state next year are still high. “I don’t think we should judge the season by wins or losses,” said Nicki McNames, a junior at Falcon and sister of Sean Mcnames, the starting quarterback. “Our defensive line is kicking butt this year! So overall, I think there is always room to improve but we are holding our own.
