SQUELCHING LAST MONTH’S RUMORS**Dr. Kent Herbert is setting up shop next door to the Blockbusters (probably no longer a rumor).Read this month’s Face to Face.**Another medical office may be going in the old State Bank building, which is currently under renovation.True -no details yet.**Rumor has it that all government entities have paved or are about to pave the way for Claremont Ranch Filing 2. However, the Colorado Supreme Court will hear the case against Cherokee Water District regarding the usage of wells No. 1 through 8 on Sept. 13.The case has been heard by the Supreme Court – ruling expected by year’s end – stay tuned again.New rumorsJANUARY FOR WILD WINGS?A while back we reported that a Wild Wings & Things would be opening around mid-August. The original destination was going to be the old Direct TV quarters, but that fell through and the new doc has taken that spot. The new owner of the Falcon Wild Wings & Things is set to move into the building under construction adjacent to Safeway, closest to Highway 24. After months waiting for the building permits, Art Wilson is hoping to finally be able to serve Buffalo wings and “things” like salads and sandwiches in January. What happens when business owners are held up by bureaucracies? More on that next month.RESERVOIR ALREADY?Reservoir action: one Falcon renter told another Falcon resident that he was given two months to move – cattle and all – from the property located on Highway 24 about a mile before Garrett Road. The property includes a line of heavy trees that run perpendicular to the highway. The renter has been there for more than 10 years. He said five wells had been drilled in conjunction with the new reservoir, which is the reason he had to vacate the land. The only reservoir we know about is the one planned by the city on the south side of Highway 24 near Banning Lewis. But there is a long way to go before the city is ready to make any headway on that project, or so we thought. We’ll definitely be looking into this next month.PT STRETCHESMac: If Falcon Physical Therapy is extending its space out there, give us a call and let us know.
