The varsity football team had a jagged start to the season, but the boys are not giving up, especially the captains: Norman Dean, Sean McNames, Ricky Weaver, Vahn Plampeck, Lucas Musseau and Cade Schulze. Although varsity has not won any games this season (as of this publishing date), they have tried their best and have learned many lessons. “Losing a game is always hard, but spirit wise the team has grown closer, and I think that will help us finish this season off stronger than we have in past years,” said Levi Reulecke, a senior at Falcon. There have been two serious injuries this season. Senior Aaron Most and sophomore Josh Richardson both will be out for the remainder of the season due to knee injuries. The goals of the team and the coaches have not changed since the beginning of the season. “As a team we want to finish above 500 with the chance to make the playoffs. I feel we have the coaches and players to accomplish this. It is time to be respected within our conference and put Falcon on the map as a playoff contender,” said head coach Jason Catron.A few seniors were contacted about playing college football. Senior Ricky Weaver was contacted by Colorado University at Boulder and University of Nebraska at Kearney. Norman Dean, who is also a senior, was contacted by the University of Nebraska at Kearney. The coaches, athletes and fans all have high hopes for the rest of the season and hope to see you at future games.
