Boys’ soccer

The boys’ soccer team has finally kicked off the new season, with tryouts and practices to prepare for the first game. Try outs were held Aug. 14 through Aug. 16 at Sand Creek High School. About 66 boys tried out for the team, and cuts were made to create teams of 18 boys each. The season recently started, but the team has been holding summer scrimmages. A coach from the Netherlands conducted a summer camp to strengthen their soccer skills.”Practice is about developing team work; right now we have many great individuals on the team,” said Trevor Wallner, a senior soccer player at Falcon High School. “We run together and are taught to become leaders. The conditioning is invigorating with many sprints and drills that test attitude and ambition. The coach wants to see hustle and finesse with the ball.”Students from countries like Germany, Ukraine and Montenegro are also interested in the team, creating a diverse, talented soccer team that will blow all other teams out of the water.
