The Experimental Aircraft Association Chapter 72 would like everyone to join them at Meadow Lake Airport for the Falcon Fly-In & Airport Days Aug. 19 and Aug. 20. Pilots across Colorado will be flying in their airplanes, and local businesses will be set up with all kinds of wares and services.Exhibitors: hurry and reserve your booth site space. Applications are available on the Web site at http://falconflyin.org or you can contact Sandy Martin (719) 351-1640 or Ray Miller (719) 495-2470. Your displays will be against the backdrop of an exciting aviation event.Airplanes galore will be on static display for everyone’s enjoyment. You’ll see, up close and personal, a variety of antique aircraft, a famous racer, helicopters and experimental and production aircraft. Airplanes will be “on parade” in fly-bys. Power Gliders will be in the air a couple of times each day. Those of you interested in remote controlled airplanes won’t want to miss their demonstrations. If conditions permit, you may be able to buy a ride in a sailplane from the High Flights Soaring Club based at Meadow Lake Airport.The aroma of food will fill the air. The great taste of Johnsonville brats, flavorful hamburgers, tantalizing tacos, cotton candy, ice cream, and much more will be available from the EAA and Rocky Mountain Sertoma Club.Activities for the kids include “Make and Take” model airplanes from the Centennial Modeling Club and rockets from Colorado Springs Rocket Society, along with flight and control tower computer simulations via the Internet, courtesy of Falcon Broadband. For the younger ones, CDOT Division of Aeronautics is sponsoring Kid Space activities with foam and candy airplane construction.Volunteers are needed for several duties.
