A call is going out to all house churches in El Paso County asking for people to gather and learn about other house churches.A house church involves a small group of Christians who meet in a home, coffee house, brew pub or other small gathering places to worship. The groups review the New Testament, using it as a guide for today’s church. The house church is involved with all of the activities of a big or traditional church: sing, pray, study God’s word, marry, bury, baptize – and more often than not in a member’s hot tub. “The only real differences … we usually share a meal together,” said Bill Bremer, a local leader in the house church movement.The local association of house churches, Springs Church Network (online at SpringsChurch.net), meeting event is planned June 24 at the Clarion Hotel in Colorado Springs, at Bijou St. and I 25, from 9 a.m. to noon.
