The Special Kids Special Families organization will sponsor its second 8K Special Run Oct. 4 at 9 a.m. at University Village Colorado – 5280 N. Nevada Ave. in Colorado Springs. This 8K event also includes a 1K family run/walk/roll, wheelchair derby and business expo. All ages and abilities are welcome. Proceeds benefit SKSF programs supporting children and adults with disabilities and special needs. Register early for discounted fees: 8K – $30; 1K – $20; derby is $10 with discounts for kids age 15 and under. Team pricing: up to 15 people is $250 (does not include event T-shirts).
