The Pikes Peak Area Council of Governments has released a draft 2035 Small Area Forecast, which forecasts future locations of population and employment. Public review and input are requested by Sept. 5, 2011. The draft documents are available online at http://ppacg.org/transportation/small-area-forecast-2035.The public is invited to comment on the forecast at an open house on Tuesday, Aug. 16, from 3 to 7 p.m. at PPACG, 14 South Chestnut Street in Colorado Springs.Every four years, PPACG performs this growth allocation process to produce future traffic volume projections for the region’s transportation network and to prepare other parts of the regional transportation plan. As a state-designated Metropolitan Planning Organization, PPACG is required by federal law to update its regional transportation plan every four years.
