Amy Lee VanLandingham, age 21, of Colorado Springs, was named the 2005 El Paso County Fair Queen on Sat., April 9 at the El Paso County Fair and Events Complex in Calhan.Amy, a graduate of Falcon High School, is the daughter of Lynn and Jerry VanLandingham of Falcon. She is a sophomore in college studying business at the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs.An impressive resume that included awards, public speaking experience, offices held and sports distinctions accompanied Amy’s application for the queen position. Among those awards are numerous 4-H achievements as well as National Honor Society, outstanding achievement in mathematics, honor roll and four-year letters in athletics and academics. Amy is experienced in horsemanship and owns several horses.The 100th annual El Paso County Fair, presented by Team Chevrolet, will be July 23 through July 30 at the El Paso County Fair and Events Complex in Calhan (30 minutes East of Colorado Springs on Highway 24).
