  Pig roast successful
  By Jeff Bowles

In May, the Sons of the American Legion held their first annual pig roast at JAKs Brewing Company in an effort to raise funds for their organization and boost awareness of the work they do in the community.
The Sons of the American Legion includes relatives and decedents of former and current military members; they offer support and raise money for charitable groups and veterans’ families each year.
“Our group was formed to give the children and grandchildren of those who served a chance to participate and give back to their community,” said James Bergmann, commander.
In addition to food, there were outdoor games and horse rides.
The event was a success, and Dave Berry, senior vice commander, said, “We are trying to make ourselves well known, support everyone we can, get our name out there.”
