American Legion riders rally to help fire victim
  Submitted by ALR

After hearing about fellow veteran Robert Dickinson, who recently lost his home and three dogs in a house fire a few weeks ago, Frank Serrano, president of the American Legion Riders Post 2008 in Falcon, Colorado, mobilized his group to help Dickinson. The ALR began collecting funds for the U.S. Army veteran. Knowing more could be done if the net were cast a bit wider, ALR Post 2008 sounded the bugle for other area ALRs to ante up, and they did — in a big way.
On Sunday, March 12, about 100 motorcycle riders from Colorado Springs American Legion Riders posts 38, 209, 5 and 22 (Lakewood) rode behind police escorts down I-25 to the Pikes Peak International Raceway to present Robert Dickinson with a healthy cash donation of $4,250. More than 30 of the bikers were from Frank Serrano’s Post 2008 in Falcon. In a show of solidarity, riders of all ages surrounded Dickinson in a display of what could only be described as “leather love” on a sunny Sunday afternoon. Photo submitted
