  Chamber news
  By Brandon Shaw
  Financial advisor with Edward Jones

The Eastern Plains Chamber of Commerce held its monthly meeting July 13, which was sponsored by Falcon Broadband and hosted at Falcon Fire District Station No. 3 on Old Meridian Road. The meeting was planned as an after-hours event with a cookout.

The chamber would like to give a big thank you to Benjamin Kley and Falcon Broadband for sponsoring the event. Another big thank you to Jeff Petersma and the Falcon Fire Protection District for educating the members and guests on the many duties of the firefighters and the responsibility they have for the community. The amount of area that the firefighters are responsible for and the awesome equipment they use to not only handle fires but to also handle emergencies is amazing.

The next meeting of the chamber will be Aug. 1 at Grace Community Church, from 7 a.m. to 8:30.

The Falcon Fire Protection District hosted the chamber after-hours cookout. Deputy Chief Jeff Petersma provided a tour of Station No. 3, where the event was held. The firefighters also brought in equipment from other FFPD stations to show attendees.
