  Chamber news
  By Jeremy Kniffen
  Liberty Tax Services

The Eastern Plains Chamber of Commerce did not have their normal membership meeting in January so that members and guests could spend more time with their families. We will resume our normal schedule, first Wednesday of each month, in February.

Please join us Feb. 7 at Grace Community Church, from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Candace Avis (Avis Accounting) and Jeremy Kniffen (Liberty Tax Service) will present important tax information both for your business and your personal tax situation. Additionally, we will be talking with the members about the upcoming year and what changes we have in store for the chamber of commerce. Also, if you have any ideas for future presentations by the chamber, please bring them with you to the Feb. 7 meeting. This organization is all about the members, and we are always looking for ways to offer training or education that will benefit the community and our members.

As always, please invite your friends and business associates to the meeting.

The Eastern Plains Chamber of Commerce Board is currently looking to fill the secretary position. If you are interested or know someone who would be interested, please contact the board at our email address below.

   Upcoming speakers
There are many open spots in the coming year for both breakfast sponsorship and featured speakers. The breakfast sponsors typically get about five to 10 minutes to share information with the group about their business. The featured speakers get 20 to 25 minutes to share information on a topic of their choice. As we have done in the past, we will be filling spots with community leaders but would also like the opportunity to spotlight our members.

If you or your organization would be interested in being the featured speaker for one of the upcoming chamber of commerce meetings, please contact the chamber board at board@easternplainschamber.com.

The Eastern Plains Chamber of Commerce meets the first Wednesday of each month, from 7 to 8:30 a.m. at Grace Community Church, 9475 Grace Church View in Falcon.

Windshield Guy moves to a new location

On Feb. 6, John Barrette will move his mobile windshield repair business to Falcon Highlands Marketplace on the south-west corner of Meridian Road and Woodmen Road. Barrette said he is glad to be in an area where customers can do business like mail packages or have lunch while they wait for a repair. Just watch for his sign when entering the shopping center (near Jimmy John’s). Parking spaces reserved especially for Windshield Guys’ customers will be clearly marked.
